As the first African American elected City Treasurer in the history of Hawthorne, David has proudly served his community as Treasurer since December 2013.
Since he was elected, David has tirelessly fought for financial accountability and transparency in the City's finances. His hard work has resulted in the savings of tens of thousands of dollars in banking fees, the establishment of a new Investment Policy for the City, and most recently a transformation in how the City invests its reserves, with an expected $150,000 in interest in the first year alone.
David's work and expertise has directly impacted the City's bottom line, contributing to putting cops on the street, fixing our roads, and remodeling our parks.
There are still more changes that are needed, as David continues to fight against the "old" ways of doing things and continues to educate his colleagues as to the most effective ways to protect the City's finances, David needs your help to be re-elected.
David feels the future success of Hawthorne is dependent upon economic development, safety of our finances and prudent investment of our reserves. David is asking for 4 more years as City Treasurer so he can fight for further financial accountability, increased transparency and separation of duties within the City's finances.
And with a 15+ year track record as a Business Consultant & Financial Advisor, holding 10 professional licenses in the financial services industries, David is the best man to represent the good people of Hawthorne as its City Treasurer.
